Welcome to Waynesboro Women's Health! We want you to have a professional, educational, and comfortable experience at our office. Our practice provides a full range of gynecologic services, including well woman exams, menopause and perimenopausal management, ultrasound, birth control counseling, evaluation of abnormal pap smears, infertility evaluation and surgery.
Meet the Team
Melinda Ferguson, MD
Dr. Ferguson graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received her MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She completed her residency at the University of Virginia and remained on the faculty for a time. She started to practice in Augusta County in 1998. Recognizing that there was a need in the community, Waynesboro Women’s Health opened in 2011. She has served in many leadership roles at Augusta Health as well as on the Waynesboro School Board. Dr Ferguson lives in Waynesboro with her husband and family. In her spare time she enjoys reading, knitting, her dog, and watching football with her Dad.
Jacque Goforth
Jacque Goforth is the clinical coordinator for Waynesboro Women’s Health. She is a graduate of Bluefield State College and has worked in the health care field for 43 years. She worked in hospital settings and as a school nurse before deciding to move to women’s health 15 years ago. Jacque lives in Stuarts Draft with her husband Tom. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending her grandsons school and sporting events (and going to the beach!). She manages matters related to surgical and medicine prior authorizations as well as assisting with procedures in the office.
Rhonda Fitzgerald
Rhonda Fitzgerald is the business end of the practice. She grew up in Rockbridge County and lives in Vesuvius. She has worked in administrative health care since 1987. Rhonda has been the office manager at Waynesboro Women’s Health since the practice opened in 2011. She loves watching her son play baseball and basketball, as well as being an active member of Skyline Kennel Club. She manages all matters related to insurance, claims, FMLA, referrals, and scheduling.
